Mark your calendars for July 27-31 when we will present
Botany 2020 - Virtual!
Your Colleagues - Your Collaborators
Still Your Conference!
Abstract submission deadline - May 31
We have spread the sessions across five days
to allow for breaks and a bit more time to work in networking and topical discussions that will contribute to that sense of community to which we have all become accustomed to at Botany conferences.
Our online format will be similar to, but not identical to, our regular Botany meeting. We will host several Symposia and Colloquia that had previously been planned, contributed paper sessions, posters, and Lightning Talks
Each day will be punctuated by one featured talk including:
Kaplan Memorial Lecture - Dr. Ned Friedman, Harvard University
Annals of Botany Lecture - Dr. Rod Peakall, Australian National University
Emerging Leader Lecture - Dr. Emily Sessa, University of Florida
In-coming BSA President - Dr. Cynthia Jones, University of Connecticut
In-coming ASPT incoming President - Dr. Barbara Thiers, New York Botanical Garden
We are also planning several networking events and career-related discussions. The very popular CV review will also be back this year!
Additional points about the virtual conference:
- One contributed paper abstract (unless you are part of a symposium or colloquium - then two abstracts) and one poster and one lightning talk per presenter. You may be co-author on several presentations.
- All contributed talks must be prerecorded (we will provide guidance with directions to follow in early June)
- Symposia and Special lecture presenters will be given the choice to be prerecorded or live.
- Lightning talks will be part of the program, but also must be prerecorded – 3 minutes, 3 slides - submit your title now!
Those who have previously registered for Botany 2020 in Anchorage will be refunded their full registration shortly. We will open a new registration site for Botany 2020 - Virtual! Registration rates are now available
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented and unpredictable time as we work out all the details for this new conference. If you have any questions, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
